I made Kagome to go along with Kat's InuYasha. It was actually her idea to do the pair, since she was the one who was really into it at the time.
This costume was actually kind of fun to make. I made it from green, white, and red broadcloth, and didn't use any patterns, so it was mostly trial and error. The very short skirt was the most interesting to make, mainly because I had to debate whether I wanted to keep it that short or buy more fabric. I kept it short. Other parts were easy, like the sailor collar, since I had already made them before, and the scarf, which was just the tail ends that stuck out from a green loop.
I ended up using the same wig as I used for my Mars costume, since they're basically the same, and bought a pair of Mary Jane style shoes for it. I thought that I would only use them specifically for cosplay, but they're now my everyday shoes.
